Car Alarms: 2002 ford escape factory alarm problem, fcc id number, code alarm

Question
QUESTION: Hi,

Just got an 02 Escape(today) with a factory remote start and alarm. It's been in my driveway all day and all of a sudden the alarm started to go off. I used the remote and unlocked the doors to turn it off. Locked them again via the remote and 1 minute later the alarm went off again. Story repeats 3 more times. Now I left it unlocked for an hour and locked it again with the remote and all is fine... for now. I'm afraid to keep it locked in case it goes off again when I'm not home and it sits in my driveway.

Any idea of the problem or how to fix? Any way to just disable the alarm forever?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

ANSWER: Not factory. Did not have that option.
Especially the "alarm/remote start" part.

It's after market and you need to find out who's
the manufacturer before
you can find out how to circumvent it.

Use the fcc ID number on the remote to ID what you have at www.keynfob.com
and then go to locate the manufacturer for clarity.

Good hunting.

QUESTION: Thanks for the tip.
Seems to be a Ford Powercode dealer installed remote start option. The remote had no FCC id on it... but both of them have blank white stickers on the back. http://www.f150online.com/galleries/cover/gallery4837.gif is a picture of what it(not the key, just the remote) looks like.
Powercode seems to be Fords version of the CodeAlarm system. How do I know which part# I have? Where is the blackbox usually installed so I can know where to find it?
Thanks

Answer
Would be wire tied up hight in the dash.
Code Alarm does sell to Ford and allow them to label
some products. The fcc ID is on the chip inside too.

Try Robert in my Forum.
I believe he has the goods on Code Alarms for you.
