Car Alarms: viper 300 alarm system in a porsche 944, viper 300, gmail

I am restoring a 1986 Porsche 944, this has a Viper 300 system that has been hacked in to the original wiring system. They cut wires and just used electrical tape to connect. It also looks like there was a proxy sensor .What do I need to know about taking this system completely out?
