Car Alarms: factory car alarm problems., galant gtz, alarmtek

Question
I have a 2002 Galant GTZ with a factory alarm.  As long as I've had the vehicle, to defuse the alarm, I would place my key in the door insert to unlock the car.  Now everytime I open the door whether the car is on or not, the alarm goes off.  I have disconnected both horns so the head lights blink on and off for about 3-4 minutes.  This is draining my battery.  What can I do to defuse the factory car alarm?

Answer
Hmmmm, Likely to be factory if it's the car's own horn honking.
However, if it's a siren and flashing lights, it's after market.

Ok, here's what I know...

Normally, putting the key in the drivers side door lock,
turning to the left, then to the right all the way
will unlock and disarm/reset the "OEM factory"
alarm system. If the disarm wire in the door
is broken or disabled, this needs repair
to get the control you need.

You could buy the chart for the car and try to disable
that way, but really, it appears the door switch
on the drivers side need to be inspected as the culprit
as it directly controls the OEM alarm

Good luck with this issue.
