Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): piston hitting plug

I have a fd620d-cs11 kawasaki engine I took apart but don't know for sure why piston hitting spark plug I've check to make sure right plug the rod doesn't seem to have any slack but it has rubbed crankshaft. Thanks Jason

Are you sure the rod and piston are installed correctly?  Usually the rod and piston have to be install in a certain direction so the rod does not hit anything and the piston does not hit the valves or spark plug.
