Car Alarms: 99 Plymouth voyager in tamper mode, remote car starter, plymouth voyager

Question
I have done reading on this and I think my van periodically places itself in tamper mode. What happens is from time to time the van will start up, no lights on the console will turn on (radio will have power), then it will shut off after a few seconds. This will occur 3-6 times after trying again and then it will completely shut down, that is, no ignition after trying. After about 15mins it will be right as rain. This problem occurs randomly, could be 3 times a week, could be once every month or 2. I have had the ignition switch replaced and that didn't fix the problem. I have owned the vehicle for 3 years and the problem has been around for about 6 months. The alarm is factory - remote keyless entry. No car remote car starter that I know of. The issue seems to be more common when the tilt on the steering wheel is used but that is not always the case nor does it happen instantly. This is driving my mechanic crazy. The other option that another mechanic gave me was to replace the computer system in my van. Now I know the work around (15min wait time) but what is the fix?

Answer
Hmmm, this intermitency sounds like the BCM
(body control module on the 99 Caravan)
is bad, has a fault in the wiring or, is
about to fail. Hard to say from my vantage
point. But the Diagnostic plug would
read the codes. Have you checked this out?
