Car Alarms: resetting alarm on 1996 chev truck, chevrolet truck, chevy truck

Question
QUESTION: I had to replace a battery and alt on a 1996 chevrolet truck with alarm system.. truck drove alright for one day and then next morning went out to start truck and the engine would not start. Cranking OK.. does the alarm need to be reset to start or is the fuel pump bad. Not getting any gas to the injectors..
 Thanks in advance,
       Dan

ANSWER: Depends on what alarm you have there.
There is no PASSLOCK stopping this year Chevy truck
according to the notes, so it's difficult to say just
what the trouble is.

Is there a siren involved?

QUESTION: When the alarm goes off just that normal sound of an alarm going off.. push button on dash to stop the alarm from going off..
I checked everything I could. No fuel pressure at the ejectors.. pushed in the value at the ejectors and no or very little gas coming up to the ejectors. Checked fuses, etc.Going to have the truck towed to my repair shop today..

Answer
After market Dan.

The "button" is the valet switch.
OEM/FACTORY alarm does not have an over ride switch.

Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.
KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

Repeat to reset it.
I hope this solved it for you.
