Car Alarms: avantguard 2, clifford alarm, designtech

ive just fitted an avantguard 2 clifford alarm to  an escort rs wiv negative switching central locking thers four wires for the locking 2 switch side and 2 solenoid side am i supposed to cut the standard wiring like you do with the ignition or jus splice in all 4 2 to the unlock on the same original wire and 2 to the lock or cut them and join them like an ignition immobiliser? and does the alarm control unit have fuses built in it?
