Car Alarms: Sensitive Alarm, honda civic lx, sensitivity levels

Question
Recently I purchased a used 2002 Honda Civic LX with an “Immobilizer Anti-Theft System”.
This system is super sensitive and reacts to every thing possible.  Simply shutting a door next to the car will set off the alarm.  I do not have an owner’s manual and wondered if there were adjustments that could be made on the system to lessen the sensitivity levels.

Thanks!

Answer
Not certain of the system, but MOST after market
alarms (yours is after market because
the Honda immobilizer does not include an alarm.
These are 2 different systems, and the shock or
knock sensor is set too high) have a knock/impact
sensor that has a wheel inset into it to turn up
or down(counter clockwise is down).

Locate the sensor under the dash and turn down, or
simply unplug it. Should be a little oblong box
wire tied up high under the dash, and would
blink when it detects vibration.

Good luck.
