Car Alarms: aftermarket remote starter for 1993 explorer, starter store, sure what kind

Question
The remote starter used to work then it stopped and all it does is when you hold down the key the horn blows and the radio and whatever was left on before it was turned off comes on that is it. I'm not sure what kind of unit it is do you think the whole unit is bad or could it be a fuse.

Answer
I don't know what it is either.
But it sounds like it's in service mode.
Look around for the valet over ride switch
or, button if there is one.

It can be part of the antenna, or under the
dash area.

Once found, turn on the ignition switch, just before cranking,
press and hold in the button until you get a reaction,
like a chirp, or honk, & or light flash.

Turn off the key, and you've reset it to user or
active mode and it should operate. If no joy,
I would have it inspected for trouble at your
local car alarm/remote starter store.

Good luck.
