Car Alarms: Remote Start problem w/ Viper 5900 on 2002 Ford Explorer, keyless entry systems, car alarms

Question
When the alarm was installed, everything works except the remote start. If we test it out, the car will attemp to start (lights go on, the power seat moves forward, the hands on the Gas, temp and oil will move up) but the car doesn't make a START sound. It tries it 3 times.

Now when we insert the car keys and leave it in the OFF position, the car will attemp again but this time, it will make a START sound but it doesn't start all the way.

The mechanic said that we had a bad mobilizer and we had to exchange the whole alarm system. But how is it the mobilizer if everything else works fine on the alarm? Do we have any other option or what can we do to figure out what is wrong? Please HELP!!!
