Car Alarms: Autostart remote, resident technicians, mechanical work

My AUTOSTART  keychain remote stopped working. I changed the battery. No luck.The LED light on the remote lights up when I press it. I hear a regular whirring sound on my dash, if I test it inside the vehicle.I have a toggle switch to flip if I want to turn the remote off if mechanical work is being done, etc. This is in the on position. My vehicle is a 2001 chev Tracker and I`ve never had a problem before. no new work Completed . No switch under the hood. Can it be reset. It unlocked my doors and statrted the ignition... very cold in our winters !Autostart series AS -1200. I would sincerely appreciate any help you can offer. Have checked out many other questions/answers on your site and can`t find this one.

Nope, sorry I don't have info on
remote programming of any kind here.
