Car Alarms: car alarm and remote starter how to operate, google search, transmitter programming

Hi and thanks for your help. I purchased a used vehicle with a remote starter, and alarm. I, do not know how to work it. When I purchased the vehicle, I witnessed the remote starter in operation. I do not know the model of the alarm, but the remote has bulldog on the back I can describe it for you though.  It has 4 buttons on the face, and a led light on the upper left corner. It also has a sliding cover that covers three of the switches, but leaves the red button exposed through a hole in the bottom of the sliding cover. What I would like to know is what do the buttons operate, how to remotely start the vehicle, how to set alarm, distance of use, how to change battery, what model is it, how to replace and program, if lost, or broken.
