Car Alarms: Karr System, karr alarm system, keyless entry remotes

We recently purchased a 2002 Chevy Avalanche.  It has a Karr alarm system, but we have no instructions, diagrams or any other info on the alarm. We are having random trouble with the vehicle shutting off while we are driving or it won't start. It only does it every few days and when it happens, the vehicle will restart with 2-3 minutes.  We are wondering if the alarm could be causing the problem. Is the alarm connected to the fuel system or ignition in any way.  Also, when we purchased the vehicle, there was only 1 key (not original) to the vehicle.  The dealership provided us with brand new keyless entry remotes and we purchased additional keys from Chevrolet.  could the fact that the keys and remotes are not programmed be causing the problem.
