Car Alarms: 2001 Lincoln LS V8 Alarm, resident technicians, 2001 lincoln ls

We had to replace the regulator ass'y on the front driver's side door.  Everything went smoothly until we went to start the car-it would not start, but the headlights flashed several times and we heard a loud clicking noise as the lights flashed.  Disconnected and re-connected battery, still the same problem, only now when you try to start, the alarm starts going off and you have to close the door and put the key in the door and turn it to get it to stop.  "Check traction control" and "Driver door ajar" coming up on dash. When you try to turn the headlights on, the dash just goes crazy, flashing every messages so fast they are hardly readable.  Tail lights not coming on after several times of trying to start the car.  What is going on?

be without first hand inspection. If you
