Car Alarms: 1994 Jimmy codeAlarm keyless entry, market manufacturer, codealarm

Question
It's factory installed. Has a valet button.
It locks and unlocks the doors but the alarm is still on.
I have to push the remote to stop it. Can it be fixed? If NOT how do I disable the alarm?

Answer
K but, not a factory system on yours though.

I know this cuz "factory alarms" do not have valet
override switches. Also a "tell" here that it's after market,
is the identification "Code alarm" is an after market
manufacturer. See the flashing LED? Well, code alarms
use makes them to double as the override button.
There may be another you are reffering to, but
try to override it and reset.

KEY IN AND IN THE ON POSITION JUST BEFOR CRANKING,
PRESS AND HOLD IN VALET SWITCH/BUTTON UNTIL YOU
GET A CHIRP FROM THE SIREN, AND MAYBE A FLASH OF THE LIGHTS.
KEY OFF.

This procedure would let you toggle into and out of
override on most alarms, Code alarm included.

Let me know if it does with yours too.

(PS, repeat these same steps to go back to the
service mode you were in prior to use.)
