Car Alarms: 700esp viper alarm dead, keyless entry systems, car alarms

Question
I have a 700esp viper alarm and the remote stopped working completely. My car at the time was armed and I use my key to enter the car and tried to disable the alarm using the override buttom while the siren was blaring. I disconnected the siren and continued trying to disable the alarm but to no avail. I tried disconnecting the battery terminals several times but this did not disable the alarm. Now the alarm isn't working (no flashing park lights, no LED indications, no siren) and my car still cannot start. How do I disarm the alarm and be allowed to start my car. Did the alarm shut down completely when it realized it was being tampered with?
