Car Alarms: car starter, keyless entry systems, saturn sl

I have a valet 552t system in my 99 saturn sl. when i got the car there was a prestige remote on the key ring the number on the back of the remote it aps2k4ms. my question is can this remote work with the starter in my car and the keyless entry and if it can how do i progeam it to work since i just replaced the battey and it is currently not working.
