Car Alarms: Truck not starting in cold weather (Security System issue?), cold weather, car alarm

Question
When it gets cold, my truck often will not start. It won't turn over at all. It USUALLY works after I pull the fuse that my car alarm is wired to (bad aftermarket installation before I bought it) and then reset the alarm. Sometimes that doesn't help. Is this coincidence, or do aftermarket systems have any history of causing starter issues in colder weather?

Answer
Sure. The after market unit sounds
like it needs to be safely extracted, and the
wiring under the dash repaired.
I would replace it with a fresh, brand
new unit with 2 remotes, but that's me.

If you want to get rid of the issue, dump the
current alarm. It'll just keep doing
the same things unless you tend to it.

Good luck.
