Car Alarms: Security light keeps flashing on and off, 2005 toyota corolla, resident technicians

I just recently bought a used 2005 Toyota Corolla. It did not come with a manual and today I noticed the security light on the dash board to the left of the steering wheel keeps flashing on and off and nothing I do can get it to stop.  My previous car was a 1991 Corolla so I'm not up to date with all the new gadgets.  Does anyone know how I can get this to stop?  Thank you.
