Nissan Repair: I think I am having electrical problems w/ my car, night comedy, pad life

Question
I hope you enjoy this enigma as much as we have the past few days.  It is almost material for a late night comedy show.

I think I may have an electrical problem w/ my 2001 pathfinder.  There are a lot of symptoms, so here are a few:  1) while in the car driving down the road, the door locks lock all the doors w/out us doing anything.  2) the passenger power seat starts readjusting randomly w/out us touching any of the buttons.  3) while the car was running, we had locked the doors in the parking lot (while my wife was waiting in the car).  she tried to unlock the doors and as soon as they unlocked, they relocked themselves immediately.  4) there is a strange blinker-like clicking sound coming from under the steering wheel when you drive (however the blinkers are not actually on).  5) when you use the remote key to lock the doors, the doors will lock for about 5 seconds then they unlock.  then even though the doors are unlocked, the car alarm remains armed and goes off if you open the doors.  6) she pushed the unlock button to unlock the doors and the alarm went off (the doors were closed).  7) when you put the passenger power window up, it reaches the top then re-opens half-way down again.

I appreciate any help you may be able to provide.  It is a 2001 LE Pathfinder.  50k miles.  Really no service calls to speak of other than regular oil, new brakes, etc.

Though we should get it fixed, I hate to take it to the dealer, as they were the ones that tried to get me to change my brake pads (unrequested) saying that I needed to change them (when they had over 80% of the pad life left).  So as much as I liked the dealer, the service folks were a bit aggressive....

Many thanks,

Answer
Paul,

It sounds like one of two problems.  The first would be the body control module and that hsould be a warranty item.  It is over $300 bucks so lets hope it is under warranty still.  There was a service bulletin written on these for several Nissan vehicles.  The second item would be a circuit breaker that is cycling under the dash and that would be caused by a short in the electrical system.  It could be the seat switch or the combination window/lock switch.  The reason I say that is the seat moving by itself.  I have had this happen on a 200SX before and the seat switch was defective.
