Car Alarms: theft deterrent, light flasher, alarmtek

hi..i was looking for some info on a 2008 malibu ls, and found out that it has a theft deterrent feature on it. i tried to find info on that and could not. so, what exactly is a theft deterrent feature, and is it any good. if not, what would you recommend to put in the car for a good alarm system?  also, what is your opinion of the viper alarm? thanks so much!!

I do have the proper wiring needed on the 08 Malibu
for remote start, car alarm and keyless entry interfacing.

& No, Viper is NOT a decent or, in my opinion, an option
when doing this vehicle. They are over blown, over priced,
and under performing for my dollar. Plus no help to the end
user after purchase. Bad.

This car has 2 systems now. GM's noise generator/head light flasher,
and the PASSLOCK II fuel rail cut off circuit. It's good
for car theft, not so much for vandelism.

Have a look at the K9-ECLIPSE at www.PAGINGALARM.com

and is a 2 way system with 2 LCD remotes.

That;s the way to go here. No remote start
though. If this is desired, add an add on module
for 60.00 more, but will aslo require a PLJX
bypass kit to get it to remote start.

this idea area.
