QuestionHi my sister left me her valet key for her '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee to use her car while she was away at college but I am having trouble unlocking the car. I can unlock the drivers door with the key but the second I open it, the horn starts blaring and the lights flash (Car alarm) The only way to turn it off is let it sit for 3 minutes with the doors closed. If I start it with the alarm going off, the engine will just shut itself off
AnswerOk, first try this:
Key in the drivers door, turn left to disarm, then right
to unlock and open the door. If no joy,
there is a fix, but that's a bit of a problem here.
Because yours is a "FACTORY" or, OEM
(original Equipment Manufacturer) "alarm/security" system,
then the disabling procedure info for any given
specific vehicle is now deamed to be too sensitive to
