QuestionI just picked up a tacoma that had a Karr alarm previously installed, using the
factory tacoma keyless entry remote. It worked great until tonight when i
changed the settings for the keyless entry to open both doors with a single
touch of the unlock button.
Now the doors work as i desire, and the alarm will set with the locking of the
doors via the remote, as before. Although, it will not disable with unlocking
via remote, prompting the alarm to go off incessantly upon opening the door.
I repeatedly push the unlock button to disable the alarm with no joy.
Heres what my remote inputs are doing now. I know it is set as the horn
chirps when i lock, along with the factory keyless beep, and the under dash
indicator light flashes. When i unlock, i no longer get the horn chirp, just the
double beep from the keyless system, and also the dash light continues to
flash. Open the door, and the alarm is blaring.
I did not receive a manual for the alarm when i purchased the truck a month
ago. I am hoping there is some way to get the alarm to recognize the keyless
inputs again in way similar to programming the factory Toyota keyless entry
system. Hope you can help.
