Car Alarms: impreza alarm and immobliser!!! headache!!!, little black boxes, valet mode

Question
QUESTION: HIYA PEOPLE JUST WONDERING HOW TO RESET(FIX) MY ALARM. WELL BASICALLY I TOOK MY BATTERY OUT THE CAR FOR AROUND AN HOUR AND AFTER PUTTING IT BACK IN IVE TRIED TO START THE CAR AND THE IMMOBILISER KICKS IN AND THE RED LIGHT STAYS FLASHING. I TRY PRESSING MY FOB TO DISABLE THE IMMOBILISER BUT NO LUCK. I THINK THIS HAS HAPPENED DUE TO THE ECU RESETTING ITSELF BUT IF ANYBODY CAN HELP IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THE ALARM IS ALSO A AUTOWATCH ALARM ON A 1995 WRX JDM WAGON CHEERS.

ANSWER: Ok, should be fairly easy. To try to disarm it,
look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

That should solve the troubles for now.
Repeat the steps to toggle back to valet when needed.

Let me know what you discover.

QUESTION: ive had a look under the dash only found a few little black boxes 1 for the central locking and 1 saying autowatch which is obviously for the alarm but i can not find and button or switch. and if i do find it does this mean i will not be able to use my alarm properly how i used 2???

Answer
Ok, usually located at the left leg area drilled into the plastic
panel covering the wire pack going out to the drivers side door.

It can also be part of the antenna on the windshield if installed
or, even part of the LED light if it's a Code Alarm system.

Hard to say since I am not there to inspect, but keep searching.
If no joy, try taking it up to the local car alarm installer
to search it out.

Wish I had more for ya.

Have a good one, hope it works out!
