Car Alarms: Checkmate car alarm, toyota 4runner, resident technicians

Question
I have a new(used) 2002 Toyota 4Runner with a Checkmate 3 button remote FCC ID JT3KT6B.  The lock and unlock buttons are self-explanatory but what does the option button do?  Also...the car alarms itself very shortly after the key is removed from the ignition whether the doors are locked or unlocked and all by itself (it must be set on automatic?) and I want to know how to stop this and only have the alarm set when I press the lock button to lock the doors.  I suspect this is where the option button comes in...but I have no instructions.  any help is appreciated.

Answer
On this one, the best thing here is
to go to my installers forum at
www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project. I don't know checkmates
functions or how to toggle between them.
Best bet is to ask for some help from
a tech on the site who has worked with one.

Good luck there.
