Car Alarms: 2001 Eclipse Alarm, eclipse spyder, remote transmitters

Question
I have a 2001 Eclipse Spyder with a factory alarm. The lock, unlock and panic buttons on the remote work, but cannot arm or disarm the alarm. Basically when I shut the door, the alarm arms itself, then when I open the door, of course the alarm goes off. The only way I have been able to disarm it is to push and hold down the lock button on the drivers door.

My question is: can I reprogram the system to get the remote to arm and disarm the alarm and if so, how? Or would it be easier to remove the alarm system altogether? If that is the case, how do I go about removing the alarm? Thanks

Answer
THIS IS AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE TO
YOUR QUESTION ABOUT "REMOTE PROGRAMMING".

:>(
ooooop.
You have the wrong guy here!

I'm sorry if you did not see the note
I put on the ALL EXPERTS site , but
I do not provide remote transmitter
programming information here.

That's still true.
I really don't offer that assistance here.

But never fear!

Try a site like www.keylessride.com.
www.keynfob.com , or www.remotes4you.com
as providing replacement remote transmitters
and programming them, is what they specialize in.

Good luck with it.
