Car Alarms: 2005 Altima, 2005 nissan altima, nissan altima

Question
Hi, I have a 2005 Nissan Altima (bought it 4 weeks ago) and I just installed fog lights. In order to do that i have disconnected the " - " from battery. After finishing the installation, everything is fine but I just realized that behind the rear view mirror is a small antenna with a blue led blinking. It is first time when i see this led blinking, never happened before.  Everything is working but I do not like that blue led blinking. Could you please let me know how I can shut down the led?  Thanks

Answer
It's likely to be an after market system.

To try to disarm it,
turn on the ignition key, press and hold in the button
in the antenna you found on the window glass
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

The next step is to remove the alarm.
This might require a local technician to
identify it, and affect neccesary service for you.

That should solve the troubles.

Let me know what you discover.
