Car Alarms: car alarm, mitsubishi eclipse, gemini system

Question
QUESTION: I have a gemini system which was already on the 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse when i purchased it and this morning it is not responding at all. The doors will not lock or unlock, the remote start does not work. i tried both remotes and the same outcome. i checked the fuses and they are fine and its not the battery in the remote. this one has me really confused can you help?

ANSWER: A Guess here is the power system wiring may have a popped
fuse. A guess because there are variables only you can determine.

Unlikely both remotes stop working. More likely
to be a receiver/power issue.

Get out some tools and test the key switch wiring.

Have a look at www.MRINSTALL.com for tips on
how this would be done.

Good luck.

QUESTION: yeah i just noticed then too the little blue led light stays on constantly intstead of blinking. so the power has to be going to the reciever.

ANSWER: It also means that this system is probably in over ride
mode I think.

If there is a button inset in the antenna where the little
blue lights are, this would be the over ride/valet/CALL
button.

Try, key on, press and hold in the button, then after a few seconds,
the alarm will chirp twice maybe, and reset the system
for use. Key off and all should return to normal.

QUESTION: nope just tried resetting twice and nothing. the light still stays on and nothing happens with any button pressed on the remote.

Answer
Hmmm, sorry to hear it.
Well then, it's on to removal from
the factory wiring under the dash.

I would suggest you go to the local
Circuit City or Best Buy or any other
local installation shop for inspection/repair
or removal to solve this issue for you.

Wish I could have offered more.

Good luck with it.
