Car Alarms: ScyTek Alarms, scytek alarms, brake failure

Question
How reliable are ScyTek alarms. I just took it to a place to have the 5000 2way put in, and he said that they are not reliable and they are known to cause problems to the car. such as computer failure(cause it to burn up), brake failure. So i am asking you since you are neutral and of course they will talk down about anything they dont sell. So how Reliable and safe are the ScyTek systems? thanks

Answer
Not to my knowledge. I have heard of systems
overloading because of adding a wire to the
vehicle without the use of a required relay,
but out of the box, I have found them
to be a big hit. Of course the tech you took it to
may have a differing opinion, (and also probably sells
Viper products, and will always talk down the competition)
so no big surprise there, but good marketing does not
always make good or better/safer products.

The Scytk line is fine.

Again, after 2 years of working with Scytek, and
6 years prior to the Scytek name, working with
the Precision/Black Widow/Commando lines, which
were all designed by the owner of Scytek, I
have only good things to say about the 5000 rsw 2 way.
I own 3 of them in my own cars, and install them daily
in my shop.

You can also call the company directly if you have
questions at (800) 693-7505.

Have a good one.
