Car Alarms: 1993 grand cherokee alarm issues, oem system, necessary thanks

Question
i read your solution on how to ground out the purple/yellow wire to ground to permanently disable the alarm. my question is, what about "power up" mode or basically when you unhook the battery for several minutes and hook it back up. will the lights still flash and require some way to turn it off, or would the alarm be dead all together? let me know. also, could you run a monetary switch in the glove box that splices into the key switch wires that run from the alarm module? or is all this not necessary? thanks, matt

Answer
Messing with the battery just keeps resetting the OEM system.
Stop that. It will re engage each time, and could freeze
the fuel injectors eventually.
Simply follow the direction as shown to disable the alarm.

A momentary switch could be installed at the same
point as the splice to the purple/yellow wire
if you intend to turn it on and off, but not
suggested.

Best idea here is to simply terminate
the current functionality of the OEM alarm and
get a replacement after market system to pick
up the security duty. If not, you may lock up
the OEM system somehow and then you'll have more
problems then you currently have.

Just render the OEM system inert, or leave it alone.
