Car Alarms: car alms not working, home security system, car alarms

Hi, this is a very odd one I think!
No-one can turn their car alarms on or off when on our road. All the alarms will turn on and off as normal when you drive approximatley 10 meters away from the road in any direction, but on our road you cannot turn your car alarm on or off. Also, one of our neighbours has a breakdown van, with a computer inside it (so he can keep in touch with the breakdown company/mechanics when he is on the road etc) and when he is on our road the computer doesn't work...until he gets the same 10 meters away, then it works perfectly again!! any ideas what this could be??? regards, Sally

Ok, not un heard of, but a great question.
Something on the same or close
frequency near by is the probable cause.

Something that puts out a stronger signal,
overwelming the remote controls you are speaking about.

My guess is either a powerfull home security system, or
garage opener perhaps, but something like that
is "blanking" out the signals your transmitters
are using.

Check around the neighborhood and attempt to
test the trouble spots but manually disarming
any of these devices to see if I was right.
