Car Alarms: Passlock problem, chevy silverado, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: I think I have a problem with my passlock system on my 2000 Chevy Silverado. Can I by pass it. I don't nee remote starting feature. Thanks in advance

ANSWER: Unfortunately, yes this
vehicle has a the PASSLOCK II key
based engine disabling system, and will require a
GM PLJX bypass module.

This Passlock Bypass Module is designed to momentarilly
allow the engine to remote start by sending a proper
coded pulse to open the fuel rail passlock injector
cut off circuit.

The output from an alarm/remote starter
would then shut down the pulse, once it has detected
the engine has engaged, and preserve the integrity
of the passlock system.

That is it's designed purpose.

This is a self learning, resistor sensing
and self adjusting module. Once the VATS/PASSLOCK
wires have been tapped,
you would press the program button to learn,
and it does. The car should then allow start
with any hardware store key.

QUESTION: Thank you for your previous information. I had a scanner on the one time truck would not start and was able to find out that I had CRANKING RPM & INJECTOR PULSE. Do you know what signal is missing when disabled?

Answer
No sorry, my expertise is in after market
remote starter interfacing, and the eqiuipment
to use to momentarily circumvent a WORKING
system, not in the manufacture's repairs,
or fixes involving OEM equipment.

Please try a car mechanic or a GM guy for more
on this.
