Car Alarms: HONDA CIVIC ALARM/KILL SWITCH ACTIVATED, manual honda, fuse box

Question
In addition to this guys problem [below](mine is very similar) it seems as though a "kill switch" may be part of my alarm.  I have a '97 manual honda civic. This situation is almost exactly the same except I knew about the switch near the fuse box.  I've got no remote and my alarm only causes problems when the battery is detached and then reattached, etc.  However, the other day I went to the store.  When I came back out my car wouldn't start.  No matter what I did including trying to reset the alarm.  Even setting it off and allowing it to go the the cycle.  My lights and gauge lights worked but the car won't start.  When I turn the key the A/C lights go on and off as I turn the key. I don't want to have to tow this thing to the dealership and pay an arm and a leg to get the kill switch mechanism reset if that's what it is.  PLEASE HELP!!!  Expert: ALARMTEK

Question
I own a 1997 Honda civic. The other nite i turned off my car and the alarm started going off. When i reinserted the key and tryed to turn my car on it wouldnt start. I no longer have the keyless remote so have no idea how to turn it off and start my car. My headlights were flashing and LED lights as well withred light on the dash. I didnt even know that i ahd an alarm. How to i disarm it so i cand drive? I need my car to commute!!

Thanks!

Answer
You'll need to set off the alarm for a few seconds.
Then, look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode to see if this was corrected.

But if it does work, I'd keep it this way, and
replace the alarm asap with one you know and
understand how it operates for the best overall
experience.

Let me know if it works for yours.
