Mercedes Benz repair: battery, jump point, cigarette

how can i open my trunk to change the battery if the battery goes dead? I have a 2000 mercedes c230.

Owners manual:
There is a jump point under the gas pedal.

Do not jump through the cigarette lighter to open the trunk.

Read this thread, look at the pictures attached to it.
