Car Alarms: Karr alarm for new honda accord?, replacement transmitters, alarmtek

Question
The dealer installed Karr alarms on all cars on lot.  They are asking me to either pay 675 for it to stay on the car or go with the factory one.  Is the factory one enough?  They seem to serve the same function.  Buying tomorrow!

Answer
Wow, what a rip! They should be ashamed.
And YOU TOO if you fall for this one!

The security in the 08 Accord is fine for
starter immobilization. It also has has a limited
noise generator, light flashing system built in too,
so you are correct in thinking they are trying to
soak you for the Karr.

The OEM system is limited, but ok for now or until
you decide to up grade it yourself.

I'd pass on it, take the car sans the deal
they want you to make on the KARR,
then have a look at the following
websites I own to see how much you can save
by not going that way:

www.CARALARMZ.com
www.KEYLESSCAR.com
www.STARTbyREMOTE.com
www.PAGINGALARMS.com
www.PAGINGALARM.com
www.VISIONGUARD8000.com

By the way, if you say no, it's likely they will
hold back the remotes and simply say "no problem" but
will NOT remove the KARR system at all. The reason
is they were all ready installed, and cost the
dealer less then 80.00 in the first place.
They will get you on another item to make up
the difference to break even or a bit better.
So don't feel too bad for the salesman.

Here's the trick on this one.
If you can get the model number of the KARR system,
then contact Karr directly:

1-800-960-KARR (5277) or,
try www.KARRSECURITY.com

and ask about replacement transmitters for that model,
you might get away with a good alarm, already installed
for FREE, and Honda can go spin! ;>)

Either way, the dealer is asking way too much for
a standard alarm system.

Let me know what you end up with.

Enjoy, nice ride!!
