Car Alarms: prelude si - car alarm, valet service, dash area

Question
I have a 96 prelude si with what appears to be an aftermarket system.  The remote broke (I never used it) and the alarm went off after I had unlocked then opened the door (go figure).  I got the alarm off (by inplugging the fuse) but now can't start the ignition - HELP!!!  Any suggestions ...

Answer
Sure, let's put it into valet/service mode.
Put the fuse back it first.

Then look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

This solves the problem for now.

Then if you want to remove it, take it to a local
after market alarm dealer and have it done there.

They may even be able to reset/reprog. the features on
the alarm you have, to allow you to use the system
more comfortably, but of course, your call.

Have a nice afternoon.
