Car Alarms: 1993 Honda Accord SE security, prestige alarm, purchasing a new car

Hello, I have the car above and recently someone tried to steal it. The method they used was by prying a down a slot in the door handle between it and the door frame and pushing up the lock. Once inside they basically jacked up my steering column when they tried to steal it and it had to be replaced. My car doesn't have expensive stereo equipment or anything such as that but dealing insurance and the cops is a hassle I don't need and purchasing a new car or repairing one is not in my budget in this economy. Basically I wanted to know what car alarm should I focus on for my Honda. A local installer has a Prestige alarm for sale (sorry don't remember the model) but it has installable features and isn't a 2 way and the local chains have DEI products. What would you recommend that is economical and not easily disabled (as I have heard stories of security systems being ineffective and worked around)?

I like the ASTRA 777 and the Micro TW systems for
these jobs. Not hard to install at all, and
will protect it.
