Car Alarms: strange alarm behavior, dodge grand caravan, power door locks

Question
QUESTION: Hi, about 3 times in the recent past, my wife set off the alarm after unlocking with the remote. The headlamps and turn signals flash and the horn beeps. There is no siren. The dash of the car says "Alarm Set" It does this for 30 seconds then goes back to normal, except that when disturbed, the cycle starts all over again. The van will not start. I at first thought that it was a Prestige alarm problem, but now i am thinking that it is a Dodge Caravan problem. The Prestige Panic on/off works perfectly, but the headlamps and horn continue to do their own thing. I wonder if there is a way to narrow it down to the vans nonexistent factory alarm system interface or wiring?
Thanks.

ANSWER: What year is the Caravan?

QUESTION: The van is a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Answer
If it has power door locks, then it does have an anti theft system.
It works in conjunction with the physical opening and closing of the locks. To get the factory alarm to disarm you will need
to add keyless entry to the locks when arming and disarming.

The alarm is actually doing it's job. The Prestige
does not sound like it is doing the job here.

Have a tech integrate the Prestige to the lock and see
if that does the trick.
