Car Alarms: rs3000, toyota forerunner, resident technicians

Question
I have a 98 Toyota forerunner with a RS3000 alarm system. Is there a way to disable the alarm system? The truck won't always start right away. I believe the alarm is disabling the starter. it is an intermittent problem. Any idea what would cause this to happen and how to fix or disable the system
