Car Alarms: The Karr alarm system remote, karr alarm system, stupid mistake

Ok this was a stupid mistake in the first pplace, but I left my keys in my pants pocket when I put them in the wash. and the remote just so happened to be attached to those keys. Is there any possible way to reconfigure the remote to work again, or will I just have to buy a hole new remote for the alarm system?
