Car Alarms: Automate AM1, technical support questions, unreasonable demand

Question
I just had an automate AM1 alarm installed on my '05 ford ranger, I am trying to change some of the settings, but the owner's manual isn't helpful.

I have 2 questions:

1. I seem to have put my alarm into passive arming and can't seem to turn it back to active. How do I do this?

2. I find all the horn honking (when I arm/disarm) to be kind of annoying. How do I set my alarm to not honk the horn when I arm or disarm the system?

Answer
Sorry you were not happy with the answer, but I do not
go into the workings of DEI equipment.

As it said on the big sign I put on the
all experts site, (pretty clearly in fact):
"Please don't ask here" & then you went
ahead & asked anyway about a DEI alarm/product.
:>( ?

Since June of this year, I have totally stopped
answering they're technical support
questions here, I set up the auto responder by
keywords asked, so that it will remind the visitor
that I do not provide that info for them here.

So ok, I will explain it so you will hopefully
understand why, and not to take it so personally.

I "pass the buck" on these questions, in order to allow
you to get the answer from a number of other resources
& techs out there that have the information you are looking
for in this field.

The DEI folks do not help my customers, and
have asked me "nicely" not to offer "ANY HELP" to they'res,
as it violates THEY'RE closed dealer program, not mine.
In that request, they more or less DEMAND that
they're customers talk to they're dealer network
for assistance exclusively, and are pro active
in stopping those outside of that dealer
controlled network, (through implied litigation if necessary)
who do not comply with that, unreasonable demand
I agree, policy.

So, since I don't want to be sued by the "big-giant head",
I just comply & choose not to assist they're customers,
past or, present, directly and present links and
sources where you could get what you asked me for.

Again, sorry you felt it nec. to post a harsh rating
for someone simply because you did not like the
VOLUNTEERED answer given.

My bad I guess.
Sometimes me being honest with my visitors
just does'nt pan out as I intend it to at times.
However, I will strive to do better the next time someone
asks me for free, volunteered help, but now may
just think twice about offering any assistance at
all if I am going to get a similar discouraging
rating as yours.

It makes me not want to do this anymore,
for anyone. Feelin like Rodney Dangerfield
here!

& oh, and by the way,
I won't remove the same posting
you just made in MY 12 volt installers forum.

Yes, that's my forum too, and I do control what
questions are posted there.
But that's cool. I'll let it go & leave it there for one
of my employees, or other volunteer technicians who might
want to help you with this, and wish you good luck on
your project.

I do understand your frustration, & I hope
you can get an answer from someone who does not have
issues with the manufacturer as I do.

You Have A Good Day Anyway.
