Car Alarms: remote start 2001 dodge ram, side firewall, alarmtek

Question
I have two question for you. I installed a remote alarm on a 2001 dodge ram, single cab pick-up with a V-6 engine. I had to find all the wire on my own because I couldn't get a hold of a diagram. I have been out of the business for a while. I was wondering if you could tell me where to find the tach wire because I thought I had the right one, but the truck just won't start. I used a black with a gray line that connects to the computer under the hood by the passenger side fire wall. The alarm seems to be reading it but the truck won't start; the engine will just crank and then it stops. Or, do you know if this vehicle needs some type of bypass for the remote start to work? The alarm is an Autopage RS-727 LCD. I appreciate any help you can give me. p.s. I made sure that I connected all the wires that needed to be in order for the remote start to work.

Answer
Ok, the TACHOMETER is correct, black/gray but
at the ignition coil according to my data.
The diesel tach wire is gray/black and diesel wait to start wire is orange/black (-). Both wires are located on the center of the firewall. There are two black plugs, the wires are in the
top plug without the white insert. The tach wire can also \be found at the ECM on the passenger side firewall in connector C-1, pin 8. \If using the org/blk for wait to start causes a shifting
or cruise control problem then use a pulse timer relay instead.

That's the note I have on it.
Hope it helps.
