Question
Car: 2000 Honda Civic 4 door, power locks, no power windows, California Special edition. Alarm indicator light is a red LED mounted on the dash. When I hit the lock button on remote the blinkers flash a horn beebs and the doors lock but the alarm will not go on and the red LED will not light up. If I use the power lock on the door the blinkers flash horn beeps and the LED flashes red and the alarm is active. When I try to unlock the car, the doors unlock but the LED still flashes and the alarm goes off untill I hit the power lock button on the door.

Answer
Sounds like a re install is needed.
It does not seem to be on the correct door triggers,
or is in an anti theft mode now,
and you need the manual to understand how to disable
and reset it. Hard to tell without inspection.

Using your remote, go to a site like www.keynfob.com and
identify what you have there, and see if you
can contact the manufacturer for some support on it.
Or, go to a local car alarm/stereo store for an evaluation
& repair service. You may be able to sort it out quicker
that way.

Good luck with it.
