QuestionI have a factory alarm that goes off at randam. I plan to add a remote keyless entry system but in the mean time I want to remove or disable the factory system since it is very annoying and I am afraid it will drain the battery at some point.
AnswerCan't remove it. It's part of the locking mechanism.
and is armed when the door is locked,
and disarmed when unlocked.

on this system is what does it.
When you add the remote keyless entry you would
also arm/disarm the factory "anti-theft" system.
The addition of the keyless entry should control
the factory alarm and kill 2 birds with one stone
here.
