Car Alarms: 96 Camry Car ALarm, brain box, battery cables

Hello. I have a 96 camry with an alarm system. after changing the battery cables
the alarm went off and my key will not turn the alarm off. i am aware of the
bypass switch near the foot panel. however, my key ignition is locked and won't
let me turn it into the ON position in order to disable the alarm. what should i
do now?

You need a mechanic. Not an alarm problem because
an ignition "locking" or freezing up,
is not part of an alarm system's
features.

Your ignition cylander is bad and needs
replacement.

Unless you unplug the brain box for the aftermarket
alarm under the dash, you'll need to
get the ignition switch changed out first to get it
to disarm.
