Car Alarms: keyless entry trouble, nissan altima, resident technicians

Hi, I've got an '04 nissan altima. My "service engine soon" light was displayed, so I took it to get checked, but after the service people were done hooking the computer "diagnostic machine" to it. The factory keyless entry alarm did not want to work any more. Could you help me find out why?Thanks.
