Car Alarms: Ungo Alarm Wont Work!, jeep wrangler, resident technicians

Hey there, I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler I bought from a private owner and it came with an Ungo Alarm (Ungo Pro Security System, not sure which model) Anyway, I recently had work done to the engine and had to unplug the battery. Now my alarm won't work. When I press the remote button the car makes a soft, unusual chirp sound but doesn't arm/disarm or anything. I'm not really sure where to start on trying to fix it. Another thing, when the alarm was working fine, and I would unlock the doors with the remote, the passenger door lock would get stuck and not unlock so I'd have to do it manually with my key, is this a problem with the lock or the alarm hook up to the lock? Thanks for any help you can give me :D
