Recently bought and has no alarm remote.  I have been told this is a dealer item only, is this true?

Not true. Difficult to add after market yes, but
not true. But that means an installation
if you want to control the factory system.

If not interested in after market though,
contact Chevy for pricing on the factory remote
replacement.
