Car Alarms: How to program a replacement key fob., fcc id, viper alarm

Question
Greetings, I have a 1990 4runner which has a viper alarm installed with the keyless entry. I'm afraid I have not tore the dash apart to find out what model this is, but on the back of the key fob it says, 229 Codes FCC ID EZSDE1467. My question is: After having the right for over a year, I was able to purchase an exact "extra" key fob over the Internet. Of course after getting it in the mail it needs to be reprogrammed? I have searched hi and low and cannot find out anything. I also called the 1-800 number on the back which is a joke.

Thanks much!

Answer
Your question prompted this
automated responce to a
DEI equipment support inquiry...

Really? you actually asked a
Viper/DEI question?
Well, now I am confused?

I don't understand what part of,

"NO VIPER, PYTHON, SIDEWINDER,
CLIFFORD, AVITAL OR ANY OTHER
DEI QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED HERE!"

was unclear to you? Thought you might
change my policy & answer your
DEI inquiry? Or did you simply ignore
that BIG button placed smack dab
in the middle of the site you just came
from?

Hmmm, interesting.

Ok then, let me try is this way:

I am legally obligated to decline
you request.

This is the wrong place to get
assistance for ALL DEI car alarm,
remote starter or keyless entry customers,
past, present and future, period.

That has not & will not change.

Try www.directed.com
for support on your equipment,
or for any information to do with it's
functions, or malfunctions.

Sorry, but it's frustraiting to
have to keep telling people this,
when it's clearly posted on the
site for all to read.
