Tips on Buying Cars: New Car Financing, hyundai santa fe, new car financing

Question
Hello,

My husband and I bought a 2008 hyundai santa fe 8 days ago.  We have paperwork that is signed by both the dealer and ourselves.  A couple of days ago we got a letter in the mail for the finance company that we thought our loan was through stating that we had been denied credit.  I have contacted the dealership and they are STILL in the process of finding financing.  I have a nervous feeling that they are going to come back and say they cant find financing and that we will need to return the car.  I would like to know what our rights are as consumers in this situation.  I have gone over the contract with a fine-tooth comb and can not find anywhere that it says if financing does not go through that we will have to return the car.  All is states is that this is a legal and binding contract and that it can not be changed by the buyer after signed.  The way that I am thinking is that if I, as a buyer, do not have the right to change it, does the seller?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  We live in the state of VA if you need that information.  Thank you for your assistance!

Answer
Bottom line: I'd need to see the finance contract in order to answer your question.  Please ask me this question again, but mark the "private response" option and I'll provide you with a fax number, or scan it and attach it to your question.  The scan would be preferable as it will be clearer and therefore easier to read, but either way, make sure you send the front and back so I can read it in total.
